Baptism Weekend

We had a great weekend with Grandma Mulder visiting. She brought a special gift from Great Grandpa and Grandma Van Antwerpen. The wooden duck from Great Grandpa Willard’s study.

On Friday we made use of our Zoo pass and took William to see….an opossum? Several eager volunteers wanted to introduce us to “Texas” the opossum. Not my first pick for a meet and greet but still fun. (Texas is one of three brothers, Texas, Walker, and Ranger) Actually the hippos and rhino were the stars of the day and we enjoyed wandering through the exhibits and ended the day with the elephant show.

Saturday we enjoyed a drive to Idaho Springs for lunch followed by a drive to Echo Lake with a great view of Mt. Evans which was as close to a 14er as Grandma wanted to get.

Sunday we were happy to have William baptized. He put on quite the show by being bright and alert but happy as long as Linnea held him until the water startled him and he produced some very healthy cries. Pastor Rob endured the screams as he introduced William to the congregation and every one had a good chuckle. After church we enjoyed dinner out and William even let us eat in peace.
