Happy Thanksgiving! We made a leisurely trip to Tulsa for Thanksgiving splitting the drive in to two days. We had a minor incident with a tumbleweed the size of a VW bug and fierce crosswinds but not too bad of weather considering the time of year. The boys had a blast in the pool at the hotel and we arrived on Wednesday safely and with our sanity in tact. We had a great time catching up with family and both boys were completely spoiled by their cousins and love being included by the “big” kids. It was a full house again this year with the Havemen’s hosting not only us and Grandpa and Grandma Mulder but Ron’s sister and family, the DeKruyters. Maybe I think this every year but this might have been the best Thanksgiving dinner yet. I enjoyed being introduced to some new dishes and devoured the old favorites. The weather was the nicest we’ve seen in years making it possible to do all kinds of outdoor activities like launching (and losing) a rocket, playgrounds, walks, yard games, soccer, frisbee, trampoline (No Grandma you can’t go on it) skateboards, scooters, hiking at Turkey Mountain and seeing an impressive Christmas lights display. There was also lots of time to relax and watch football, movies, play Minecraft and boardgames. William and Joshua loved having different people and toys to play with and had to try out all the car, truck, train, and basically anything that moves or makes noise, toys. William also made friends with Sandy, the cat, and has been pretending to be one ever since. The drive back was relatively uneventful and we are settled in for the rest of the holidays here in Denver.
