We had the best time trying out the Peak One Campground on the Dillion Reservoir. It is quiet, right on the water, and connected to a fun set of biking trails including the Frisco Adventure Bike park. Our friends the Moloneys joined us for the adventure and we settled in on Friday night by introducing them to campfire pies. On Saturday we hit the trails and headed to the bike park. With all six boys biking we made quite the crew! From lapping the pump track to trying some jumps and braving the bigger tracks there were lots of smiles and more than our share of scrapes. Unfortunately the scrapes included me taking a wipeout as well….can’t let the boys have all the fun. In the afternoon we relaxed down at the reservoir to do some fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Josh managed to reel in the only fish of the day but there was tons of fun sand and boat play too. All too soon the late afternoon storms rolled in and we had a pretty wet dinner but still so much fun with friends!!! It’s just so great to have adventures together even if they had to pack up and head back to town that evening. Sunday was another great day with more of the same. Biking in the morning and water fun in the afternoon. All the boys continue to challenge themselves and seem to get better by leaps and bounds but it was Nathanael’s turn to shine. He is now riding a 16″ bike and road miles of trails and even tried some jumps. Even in the two days there was measurable improvement and he was full of smiles and singing to himself as he biked along. We also enjoyed exploring some of the coves and shoreline and William paddled away solo in the kayak. Another fun weekend in the books!
