Grizzly, 5K, and Grandma

We had a little bit of everything going on this weekend. Friday night I spent replacing a dead alternator in the Saturn. I can’t believe it is still running with over 200k miles. Saturday, I managed to get up early and meet the Schappa family for a hike up from Loveland pass to Grizzly Peak. Linnea and William stayed behind to pick up Grandma Butler who is visiting for the week. The weather was perfect and colors are changing in the mountains. We had great views all day, with Grays and Torreys looming overhead. Later in the evening we all got together for wings, nachos, and ice-cream. A great day overall!

On Sunday, it was church in the morning and then a rush over to the fairgrounds for a 5K by the Second Wind Fund. Linnea was running with a group of teacher friends from GW. She did great and despite not going out too fast finished just over 26 minutes. We all enjoyed the post-race barbecue, and then it was back home to catch up on all the afternoon football.

Thanks for the update. Great hiking–what beautiful skies! Congrats to Nea on running a race only 5 months after giving birth to Will!!! Now that is an achievement! The best pic of all: Grandma B with William! Have a great week. Love Mom M
