January Camping

With the becoming more usual than not warm temperatures in Denver this winter, we pulled out the pop-up for some January camping a couple weekends ago. Nothing too crazy, just Chatfield State Park down the road, but we all had a blast. We stayed one night and then a full day on Sunday. In the evening we cranked up the propane heater and heated mattresses. By about 3 am we were all cooking and both boys had to come out of sleeping bags. The boys did a lot of bike riding, playing with monster trucks, and driving Maddy crazy with pop guns. We explored a little down by the reservoir which was all frozen over. There is a model plane air field near the campground that provided lots of good entertainment. A few people had full-on model jets complete with flying in formation that was lots of fun to watch.
