Cider Days 2.0: Tractors, Burros, and Top Hogs

There is no shortage of Fall festivals in Denver so this Saturday we decided to check out another Cider Days in Lakewood. This one was a lot bigger than last weekend and we immediately had to check out all the tractors at the antique tractor pull. William insisted on sitting on every tractor and we had to pry him away tears and all to check out the other activities. They were doing burro rides and I figured it was a 50/50 chance if William would give it go. He loved it and wanted to go around for a second lap. I guess we better get the boy a cowboy hat and boots! Later in the day we came back and William found his favorite burro Vernon for another ride! He really likes to grab the saddle horn and grin. From there we checked out the petting zoo–those lamas are a little scary, lumber mill, and went on a wagon ride. For lunch it was chicken fingers and funnel cake while we watched a cowboy show. Next on tap was the Top Hogs show. Yep, the same one on America’s Got Talent where pigs do tricks like dogs, just in slow motion. It was pretty crazy and William even watched for a while. Later, I convinced Linnea to sign up for the pie-eating contest, but somehow she was spared the embarrassment since her name wasn’t picked to participate. One last visit to the tractor pull and it was time to call it a day.
