We picked up our 3rd foster dog this weekend. It’s always interesting to see what kind of dog you’re going to get and whatever strange mannerisms it has. This one came to us from a pet shelter that shut down somewhere in Southern Colorado. Slade (I’m pretty sure this isn’t his original name), a mixture between a Collie and an Australian Shepard is a pretty big, hairy dog with lots of energy and two different colored eyes. We can hardly call this a foster dog and more of a quarantine, since he is already on a home-visit with potential adapters. I guess he is quite the popular guy. We only had time to take him for a couple walks around town in the frigid cold weather, and Linnea give him a good brush. I think he was pretty excited to be done traveling though, because he couldn’t stop from sniffing anything and everything and even out sniffed Maddy up on the trail. Besides that, we had a pretty relaxed weekend watching lots of football and doing some other errands. Things are going to be picking up soon as we start a 1 month High Altitude Mountain School this Wednesday with the Colorado Mountain Club. We’re particularly excited for the ice-climbing session at the ice-park down in Ouray.

Ohhh…he’s cute 🙂 Kind of strange eyes, but a good looking dog! Maddy must be good with other dogs coming in and taking attention. Have fun in your Mountain School!

What a beautiful dog! I think I could take that one, aside from the hair. I loved the pic of Linnea with the two dogs.
