Last week NREL had a special picnic to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Laboratory. The celebration was opened up to family and I had a fun time showing Linnea, William, and Joshua around. Believe it or not, it was actually Linnea’s first time visiting since I’ve worked there for about seven years now. Of course the first Will and Josh wanted to do was ride the shuttle bus! There were lots of special activities for the kids including popcorn and cotton candy, and I think they were starting to get the wrong impression on what I do at work everyday. The weather was perfect for strolling around and after a dinner barbecue we took a short tour through my building and office. Both the boys had pretty wide eyes and it was pretty neat showing them around.
