These pictures are long over due and from Mom and Dad M’s visit in February. The madness started when Mom arrived and unpacked two tweeting birds with motion sensors from her suitcase for William. Quite possibly the most annoying present ever! Thankfully the batteries didn’t last too long. I was out of town for a few days in DC, so William and Joshua got some quality Grandma time. William’s favorite (besides the birds) was playing games on her tablet in the morning. They made a visit to the Children’s Museum, gym, and played in the remnants of snow left behind from a big storm. When I returned we all went to Red Robin for burgers while William polished off a pizza. For Superbowl weekend we had a relaxed party with lots of food and even set off a few fireworks.
The next weekend Grandpa arrived. William gave him his best WWE impression laying down some mean “Elbow Drops” and “Body Slams.” I think we almost had to cart Grandpa to the hospital. On Friday, I took a half day, meeting everyone at Five Guys for more burgers. That evening, Grandma babysat the boys, while Linnea, Dad, and myself went to a DU hockey game. It was a matchup of two NCAA heavyweights and a close game right down to the wire with DU taking the win. We sat right next the pepband, behind the goal. The rest of the weekend we went to the zoo (excellent weather), celebrated Joshua’s baptism and Valentines day. For Valentines, it was steak and salmon on the grill, and lots of candy of course, topped off with a package from the Fikkerts. Presidents day was Monday, and we got out for a nice hike, complete with a little rock climbing. I don’t know if I was more worried for William or Grandma/Mom! The next day, I was back to work, and everyone else went to the local Littleton working historic farm. Well, that’s about all I can remember without thinking too hard. A rip roaring good time overall!
