Washington visit and a little Montana too

William I just got back from a great week with family and friends in Washington. We enjoyed spending time with Grandpa and Grandma Butler, Aunt Tirsa, Uncle Adriel, Aunt Lauren, Johanna, Audra and meeting baby Rose. Some of the highlights included a morning at the Children’s Museum and a day at the Cabin. At the Children’s Museum William had a great time climbing around in the little kids section and also seemed to enjoy the rest of the sections though I think I was more into the airtubes and Grandpa was more into the water table. At the Cabin we walked the beach looking for shells, seaweed and crabs. Will even wanted to play in the water despite the cold temperatures! The inaugural canoe trip was a short affair but fun. Want to make sure he loves water even if we live in dry CO. It was so nice to relax and spend lots of time just playing. William decided he liked the Legos and standing inside the frame of a chair my mom built that is waiting for cushions to be made. He made friends with the family cat, Ashley and was the center of attention and loved it. William continues to cruise around just happy to be in the middle of everything and has been sprouting teeth like nobodies business. I was able to get away and catch up with friends as well and the weather was fairly nice the whole time, a definite improvement over the winter storms rolling through Denver.

David was out in Montana for the week, doing research and a departmental seminar on Friday at MSU. It turned out to be a really nice trip for him catching up with everyone and spending time back in Bozeman, a very special place. From the looks of it, he even got up to Hylite for a quick hike!

WOW–many thanks for all the pictures! I couldn’t quite figure out who was having more fun–William or Grandma and Grandpa. What a great time for everyone. The children’s museum looked suburb and cabin life is wonderful, especially if you are wearing a Calvin sweatshirt! Will will definitely have no excuse to be an outdoor guy! The cove and canoe look interesting. And the pics of MT are absolutely beautiful! What ice! Thanks for a great post! Love, Mom M
