2019 is turning into a year of travel as Dave and I were able to spend a week in Portugal. It hardly felt real the entire time and it is still amazing to me that we got to go without kids. My parents and sister held down the fort here in CO while we explored Portugal. David had a conference in Lisbon and we were able to go over early and spend time in Sesimbra, a coastal town and explore Lisbon before he set to work. I then got to explore Lisbon even more. It was so good to spend time together and reconnect. Some of the highlights include the custard pastries, the port, great seafood and steak dinners (without kids), scenic hotel rooms, hikes to castles, amazing architecture, dancing horses, tiles of every color, street markets, tram rides, ferry rides, the western most point of continental Europe and palaces all set in the hillsides of Portugal. We would go back in a heartbeat!!!
